Illustrator Research {Lane Smith}

{link}

Lane Smith is one of my favorite Illustrators and is well known for his illustrations with children's books. He has illustrated for many different publishers and other commissoned works. Some of his most popular books, that I grew up with, are The Stinky Cheese Man , and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. One of the most interesting things about his work is the styling of his characters. They are stylized forms that have been completely rendered to where you can almost touch the characters as if they were standing right in front of you. I hope that I can achieve this type of effect with my works in the future. Listed below are just a few of Smith's illustration works. You should check out his website too, and see the collaborations he does with his wife Molly.
