James Jean
James Jean is an illustrator who is currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Jean uses a variety of reference material in creating his works. He uses traditional painting styles such a japanese woodblock prints, comics, scroll paintings and etchings. Through these types of influences he creates works that relate to the idea of fantasy and sublime. He uses mixed media when creating his pieces. He has many clients such as New York Times, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Records, Playboy, Nike and Target. He has received top awards from the Society of Illustrator, Cannes, and the Grammy Awards. I thoroughly enjoy his work, I am most drawn to his sketching technique.
